Some fanworks analysis from my AO3, as seen on Hubzilla:
Rules: Go to your AO3 works page, expand all the filters, and answer the following questions!
(Snagged from @Vaysh Swiftstorm )
I’m excluding my vids from this. (For the record, I’ve got 80 fanvids posted to AO3, almost half of which are Jalec.)
FANFIC – 407 (this includes several drabble collections)
What’re your first and second most common work ratings?
Teen And Up Audiences (144)
What’s your most common archive warning?
No Archive Warnings Apply (372)
Do you consider yourself an adventurous writer?
How many fics have you written or podficced in each pairing category?
Is this more accidental, or do you have preferences?
Oh no, slash is absolutely my preference. 🙂
What are your top 4 fandoms by numbers?
Shadowhunters (TV) (98)
Backstreet Boys (51)
Lord of the Rings RPF (46)
The Lord of the Rings RPF (46)
Are you still active in any of them, and do you tend to migrate a lot?
Shadowhunters is very much still my most active fandom. I tend to migrate every couple of years.
What are your top 4 relationship tags?
Alec Lightwood/Jace Wayland (88)
Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan (38)
Howie Dorough/AJ McLean (27)
Patrick Stump/Pete Wentz (16)
Does this match how you feel about the characters, or are you puzzled?
They’re four of my OTPs, so it makes total sense. I actually wrote surprisingly little for Pete/Patrick, considering how much I loved them – but then, with Bandom the situation was similar to MCU/Stucky right now. There’s so much high-quality fic around, I don’t feel the urge to write (and the few I do write get lost). Jalec is definitely a less popular pairing – and getting feedback absolutely inspires me. 🙂
What are your top 2 most used additional tags, and your bottom 2?
First Time (43)
First Kiss (21)
What would happen if you combined all 4 of these into a fic?
Jace and Alec getting together at some point in the future, the angst being supplied by the fact that they both start out in their canon relationships and might even be married.
How many WIPs do you have currently running on AO3? Any you don’t plan on finishing?
9, excluding my drabble collections. The two that aren’t Shadowhunters are officially abandoned.
Also, forgot to share my Guardian liveblogs of eps 25 & 26 from yesterday:
Aww, is Guo going to be possessed? That might be fun to watch, actually. 🙂
Heh, the others’ utter befuddlement at his sudden moxxy… esp. of course Chu.
Mmh, looking snazzy, Professor, with that double-breasted suit… Not too happy about Zhu Hong having obviously decided to do something about her feelings. Neither is Zhao Yunlan, who’s doing the avoidance dance while Shen Wei tries not to glare jealously.
This hospital is The Worst. No confidentiality, no security.
Multiple personalities is the most convenient plot device ever. Zhao the elder should know all about it.
Ahahaha, Chu, omg, all swishy! And even like this he’s protecting Guo. “My heart aches more and more…”
Poor Zhao Yunlan – his life, so hard. And then he teases Shen Wei, I can’t even!
Shen Wei has pretty much stopped dressing like the Envoy, huh?
Zhao Yunlan really is screwed. I’d scream, too.
“So you and Professor Shen can have a lovers’ world to yourself.” Now I’m screaming. In glee.
“So manly!” I kind of love that the show is using this to go full-on gay, even if it’s the swishy, stereotypical kind of gay. Or is Chu supposed to be a girl? I don’t care, I’ll take this.
Oh look, it’s a a black feather. I wonder who that was… 😉
Yay for Zhao Yunlan keeping his cool and trying to leave a trace, even if his crack team isn’t up to the task right now.
What is it with this show and feather dusters?
Oops. Don’t give the bad man ideas! But lucky for you, you’re protected. Nice job, Shen Wei!
And now they’re all just watching in fascination. (Except for Chu – you go, boy!)
But at least things are back to normal.
Back in Dixing: Stay strong, old man! Resist!
Aww, Guo really is the purest soul. Hope you remember this, Crow Lady!
And look who’s talking about Shen Wei staying with Zhao Yunlan… *melts*
I know I should be paying attention to the danger, but all I can think is how *good* they both look on that couch. Zhao Yunlan in his leather jacket, Shen Wei without a tie, in shirt garters and without glasses…
And now Shen Wei’s making food! And melting when he sees Zhao Yunlan sleeping. Aww, him covering him is the sweetest thing ever! I’m not normally a fan of the “I watched you while you were sleeping” type of love, but after 10k years, who can blame him?
Still not interested in Lin Jing’s romance, sorry.
How does the murder husband expect to get away with poisoning his wife? Aren’t husbands the first suspects in Haixing? Especially when they inherit and have a mistress. Nasty piece of work!
Okay, I do enjoy Zhu Hong teasing Lin Jing. That is rather sweet.
Dumdumdum, asshat husband caught, even if it’s not for murder… The detective is Guo’s uncle, right?
Everyone is teasing Lin Jing, poor baby. 🙂
Oooh, is the wife from Da Qing’s past?
And he’s so adorably flustered on his “date” in his checked suit.
Hey, no hurting Damn Cat, lady!
I like that Shen Wei hesitated and gave warning when she was strangling Da Qing, but immediately took action when it was Zhao Yunlan. But oh, the look on his face when he realized she died… Is he losing control of his powers?
And tada, they’re putting the puzzle pieces together!
That scene with Shen Wei and Da Qing. *clutches heart*
There were two lines he says to the dead girl that aren’t subbed, before calls himself a fool.
Cats have nine lives, huh?
I very much like how they’re both so perfectly CAT. Da Qing leaving her his favourite dried fish… so touching! And the others’ reactions are great.
Cat girl sure is strong. Also, protective. I can’t help but approve of her, even if she’s misguided.
Oooh, flashback time!!!
And once again an episode ends mid-scene. I will never understand whoever cut these…
I liked this ep, despite being mostly filler and light on the Weilan, because I adore Da Qing and always want more of his story.
This vid nicely shows off the Weilan bits of episodes 21-26:
